This afternoon we sat down with the kids and asked them what they wanted their rooms to look like in the new house. They didn't really know. So we suggested we look through the internet for fabulous childrens rooms to get ideas.
We warned them that some of the rooms they saw wouldn't be practical. Either in size or money. And then we hooked up the telly to the internet and went through some images.
I was surprised at how few of them they liked. They weren't into all the big fancy rooms like I thought they might be. Admittedly they did like the room that was like a village with shop fronts making different parts of the room, but even Dan said "Oh that's going to be too much isn't it Mum?"
I dunno, what do you think?! ROFL!
After we'd got bored with trawling through photo after photo after photo of childrens bedrooms, we downloaded an app that allows you to build your own room. You can add in furniture, colours, carpet, basically anything you might need.
That's Dan's one up on the tv screen.
They love it and to be honest are still going as I type. They've even started to build the rest of the house.
The funniest part was when Dan added a full size car to his room, oh and a toilet!
**Just overheard from Matt I'm fencing off an area for Mum**
Fencing off???? Oooooook.
It's been a great afternoon.
And because Andy and I have been talking 'styles' lately, check out my new phone cover. Sooooo my style....
I LOVE it.
Later.
Cool idea but hard for them to visualise the finished product ... apps are great for helping with that. You never know, you might have a budding interior designer in your midst.

Great to involve the kids in the process. My guys love building houses in Mindcraft and they canto me and said, 'look Mum here's your scrap room that I built' - hehehehe! Now if only I can convince hubby to consider that when we look into the possibility of building! ;)
