I have just sent an email that will change my life. I have confirmed a reservation with the Great Bear Tours in Canada.
Bears have been my favourite animal since forever (when I told my Mum what I was doing, she said, yes, I remember, you had a brass bear as your animal for our families brass collection). Polar bears are my favourite, but grizzly's a close second. I have facebook friends who see bears 'in their backyard' and I'm always jealous. I realise that it's probably dangerous to have them that close, but it rocks my socks! Anyway, 3 years ago when we couldn't go to Mexico, then Egypt, it was a toss up whether to go to Finland to see Santa or Canada to see the bears. If you've been reading my blog a while, you'll know we chose Finland.
Then yesterday after months and months of having to do stuff, I was finally able to spend some time on our upcoming trip. I had planned on doing some teaching in the States after the family left, but before my teaching at the Stitch, Craft, Create, Live event in Charlotte, North Carolina, but then I got sick. Really sick, and to be honest, it was just toooo hard to follow up on emails, design classes etc etc and so I found myself with a week free.
And my question yesterday was 'what to do?'.
I thought about going to the Grand Canyon. I've always wanted to walk to the bottom. But really, if I do that. I want to do it with the family. Then it hit me. Bears. Andy wasn't that keen on them (thus the choice to see Santa 3 years ago) what about Yosemite? The Rockies? Where could I see them? Could it be possible?
I googled and found the most amazing company and after talking to Andy sent them an enquiry email. The lodge I'm staying at only has space for 10 people, so I wasn't holding my breath. But I got an email this morning saying, yes they had a spot for me!
So in between helping the kids at their fair and other bits and pieces, I've been talking/emailing Adele booking myself in for the trip of a lifetime.
I'm still pinching myself. I still have to finalise a couple of things but I'm really doing this!
And so as I realised I hadn't done my Sunday Shake Up today, I realised what it would be. It would be to challenge you to do something that you've dreamed of for years. Fulfill that dream that you keep putting off.
Ok, it might not happen quite as conveniently as my bear trip (gosh I'm lucky!!!), but you can make a decision to do it. You can start putting enquiries out there. You can start to make your dream a reality.
You can!
Dare ya!
Very excited for you - with it all falling into place like that, it is definitely meant to be. The spooky thing we are finding with your Sunday shake up is that usually whatever it is you write as the "dare ya" it is something we have just done or thought about doing in the previous week. This time it is Jan who has taken the bull by the horns and applied for two jobs that are both outside her comfort zone but something she has been thinking about doing for a couple of years. Funnily enough, there have been no vacancies in this particular industry in that time but these two have both come up in the last week - ***twilight zone*** lol!!

Well done you. My dream was to walk over the Bridge on the River Kwai in Thailand and when I went the first time I was so emotional that I could only go part way. When we went back three years later we went back just so that I could reach my dream and I DID IT!!Dreaming is fun..
