I made this cake the other week for some friends.
And at the time thought I must show how easy it is to make the 'strawberry' chocolate topper. But forgot.
So I'm going to show you just how easy it is now...
Frist off, you'll need to cut a whole in a piece of baking paper the size of your cake. This is easy to work out as you just need to mark around the edge of the cake tin.
Pop this 'negative' piece of baking paper on top of a piece of foil.
Melt some chocolate in the microwave and when melted add a few drops of food colouring. Pour into a plastic bag and cut one of the corners off.
Now just sprinkle the chocolate all over your foil and baking paper. Don't worry if you go over the edges of the paper...
As you'll take off the baking paper when you're finished....
Pop the chocolate into the fridge for a few minutes to set, then peel carefully off the foil and put on top of your cake.
Unfortunately my toppers foil curled up so the chocolate bent a little so I had to put it on upside down. So you can learn from my wee mistake and ensure the edges of the foil are stuck down so this doesn't happen.
I'm still working on the edges of my cakes, but it's ok. I'll get there....one day.
Yum, what a neat idea
