Love the new look

Dan's hair has been growing and growing and growing. And well I'm a sucker for his curls and longer hair. So I put off getting it cut and put it off and put it off again. Meanwhile he swipes at his hair on a 5min basis.

So this afternoon when I picked him up from kindy I asked him, would you like to go for a bike ride, or get your hair cut. He replied.... get my hair cut.

So we did.

And the lovely lady allowed him to have a 'mohawk' with colour. He was stoked.

And I realised why he likes going there... she always gives him a lollipop and balloon!

Gosh he looks grown up.

Tomorrow he'll be back to normal, but today, he really rocked the mohawk!

Oh, and I nearly forgot, Sarah got another Endeavour certificate today. So proud of her! Loved part of what she got it for... being a role model. How amazing. How wonderful. Did I already say how proud I was? Yeah!

Chickenpox hits the house, AGAIN

Yes, that's right. AGAIN! Do you remember the first time we had it, Xmas two years ago? Well. Seems it's back again.

I've just come home from the doctors and Dan has it. Bother!

But it does look like it's pretty mild, so hopefully it won't take too long to get over.

Thank you Prima

Well, today is the farewell day on the Prima blog for the 2010 DT.

To be honest with you I'm still pinching myself that I was even there in the first place.

As those of you who read my blog regularly know, Prima was my all time dream team. I have used their products for many years now, growing with them.

I had applied to be on the team for 3 years before I was accepted this last year. And yes, it's embarrassing to admit that! LOL. But I tell you so that you know it's ok, in fact I encourage you to keep trying at whatever you do. If you love it enough, one day you CAN make your dreams come true. You just have to keep trying.

So Prima. Well, it was every bit the ride I imagined and more. What can I say. Amazing company. Amazing product. Amazing DT Co-ordinator. Amazing group of ladies.

So thought I'd leave you with some of my work from the last year... Enjoy....

A thank you

When I went to Ch/Ch the other week, one of my lovely online friends Becks gave me a gift. I was so surprised and thrilled.

She knows how much I love to bake with my children, so when she had some spare icing and she knew I was coming down, she made me some sugar flowers to go on top of my cupcakes.

Today Dan and I finally got around to using them. They were sooooo cute and looked fantastic, but tasted amazing too.

So a very big thanks to Becks from my children and I for being so generous and thoughtful! You rock!

And as I had some spare icing left over that I didn't want to eat, I grabbed the super wines out of the cupboard and spread some of the leftover butter icing on them, then covered them with sprinkles. The kids thought they were way cool and couldn't wait to have one for their 'desert' tonight.

A new LO

On our computer we have photos as the screen saver. They flick from one to the other giving us a wonderful overview of our life everytime we wander past...

The photos I've used in this LO have been 'teasing' me for ages. I just adore them. I needed to scrap them, but couldn't figure out how. So they sat on the screen saver tormenting me until Prima designed this months PPP and palette.

This is what I came up with.

I discovered 'puff' paint recently and had to give it a go. Plus of course the Cherry Lyn doilie die. Love it!

Yesterday

Yesterday we went back to the music shop for some more guitars. Yes, that is plural! You see Sarah went to the same lesson as Matt to 'test the waters'. She wasn't sure if she wanted to pursue this learning music thing. Well, she loved it. So off to get her a guitar too, when Andy pipes up and says "I've always wanted to learn. I'm going to learn too".

So in three days we've gone from a no guitar house to a 3 guitar house. And the sounds coming from it are one day going to be AMAZING. LOL...

Anyway, on the way to buy said guitars, we had a little surprise for Andy, after French lessons on Friday, the kids and I got in the car and we changed the language on our GPS to French. Now our GPS talks to us in French!!! Too funny. I now know what the words for left and right are in French!!!! It's quite cool.

However, it's also got it's complications. On Friday after changing the language we went to Spotlight. On the way home I tried to tell it to go home. But didn't know what buttons to push. Grin. So somehow I've set 'home' as Spotlight.

Which is fine until you're in the car with your husband and driving past Spotlight, and the little 'house' comes up to signify your 'home' and he starts laughing at the irony of it. And how 'true' this could actually be.

Then we get further up the motorway, and the traffic is just about at a stand still so we head off onto Constellation Drive to avoid the traffic jam. We're just going through a round about and Andy pipes up with "I make money down around there" to which I reply "Oh and I spend money just over there". Didn't realise how silly it was going to sound until it was out and we both cracked up laughing.

That afternoon we went to the pools. The kids were so excited to spend the afternoon with their cousins, and it was wonderful. I'd been having a great week, so went along. I hated missing out on all the fun the last few months when I've been lying in bed. I was feeling fine. So why not?

I found out why not later that night when I could hardly move due to tiredness, and then this morning. I can hardly keep my eyes open.

I'm glad I spent time with the family. I'm glad I got to swim with them. But boy I wish that I was healthier and wouldn't get so tired from so little. Still, it's a little wake up call to remind me I'm not there yet (I was starting to think I might be able to start boot camp again soon! Ummmm, no!).

Hope you are enjoying your Queens birthday weekend (here in NZ). I've just got a phone call from my adventurers. They've gone off for a bike ride and Andy's chain has broken, so I must dash, I've got to drive another bike over.

We are a lucky family.

Yesterday was a GREAT day

For lots of reasons, but here are the main ones.....

• My son Matt is starting guitar lessons today and we needed to buy him a guitar. Off we went in search of the perfect one (perfect also means cheap!) He loves it so much, that he wouldn't take it off....
  
  
  
  
  
• I saved us a ton of money on our mortgage. I went and saw our bank manager and we had a chat and we changed a few things around and it's done. So happy.
  
  
• My debut as GD for Webster's Pages occurred. Gosh what a huge thrill that is. Still reeling from it.
  
  
• I got my other 'secret' project emailed off. Now it's time to sit back and wait and see if it can take that next step.
  
  
• I got confirmation that my final bits and pieces for SENZ have been ordered and sent in time. WHEW! So happy. I can start organising kits shortly.
  
  
• After a few weeks of pocket money, Dan asked if I would take him to the Warehouse to buy something with his own money. I obliged and we got the best deal. A lego kit reduced from $28.99 to $10.00. He was sooooo pleased with himself. And I was pretty proud of my boy too.
  
  
  
  
• We also did some baking (well not really baking, but fun all the same) and created these little beauties.
  
  
  
  
• The kids had a lovely treat afternoon tea, then with the leftover marshmellows we roasted them over the fire after dinner.

Guess who Websters Guest Designer for June is?

That's right! Websters June Guest designer is little ole ME! Grin.

Oh man, I was gobsmacked when I got an email from Websters asking if I'd like to be a guest designer for them this year. You guys know how much I adore their products.

I just love cutting up all the pieces and putting them back together on my LO's in 'Trina Style'.

(In fact I adore Websters so much one of my classes at SENZ will be using their product. Uh huh! "Men are from Mars is using Websters, so if you're interested, check it out and book in).

I was sent two collections...Yacht Club and Country Estate. Both of which are divine to work with. Yes, I have to admit I was a little daunted when I found out I was getting a 'nautical' themed collection, but it is lovely. I've used it for beachy LO's, a couple of cards and it's so perfect for 'boy' themed LO's .... with those gorgeous deep blues, beige and red. Ahhhhh!

Country Estate was something I just clicked with. It really is the personification of beautiful girly Websters. Lots of flowers, birds, birdcages etc. Sublime.

Anyway, here's what I created.

For a long time as I created, this one was my favourite. I just love those photos of Matt and Sarah (even is Sarah says she is soooooo embarrassed of those photos! LOL).

This next one was my next favourite for a while.....

While it's very 'simple' I love the design. I also love the puff paint that I used with a stamp. Journaling is on the back, to keep the aesthetics on the front 'clean'. But it's all about how my children and their cousins run straight for the water as soon as they get to our camp site each year.

And my last one (which I think became my favourite)....

So as you can see I've been a busy wee girl.

SENZ class update

Some of my classes have been selling so well that I've had to increase the size of them. How exciting is that?! The only problem is getting some of the supplies. And unfortunately, I couldn't do that for all of them.
