Today Jane and I spent the morning and some of the afternoon at the hospital with the kids. It was amazing. I feel so excited to be part of this. Little Evie and Jake are gorgeous. Jake has certainly got a personality. He knows when he's hungry. Its very cool. It was so special to be there, take photos, hang out with Jane, have lunch together. I'm just so pleased to be here. And to be allowed to be. I'm one lucky chickee.
Meanwhile on the home front I hear we have one sick cat. He had an operation on Monday and has been vomiting since. Andy's tried to get hold of the vet, but hasn't been able to. Hopefully tomorrow. Toast shouldn't be vomiting this much, this later after his op. I sure hope he's ok.
Chicken wise, we're down to 2 again. But a different one has gone missing this time. I think they are playing with us as we'll think one is gone, only to find it happily roosting in its nesting box a couple of nights later. We haven't had any eggs for ages, so I'm thinking we might need to go find a wee nest that is hidden somewhere else.
Kids seem to be doing well. No tears on the phone so that's a bonus. I am looking forward to lots of cuddles when I get back.
Hope all is well for everyone reading. All is good for me. Although I have to admit I miss my scrapping. Its been a long time since I haven't scrapped for this long and its a bit like going through withdrawal.

Gotta say I'm LOVING seeing all the new releases coming out from CHA. I mean I was lucky enough to get to see and play with Prima's gorgeous new ranges, pretty stoked about that. And as such I hadn't really done much looking around other manufacturers.
But had a wee look around today and there are some gorgeous new lines coming out! I can't wait to see them IRL.
Check out Basic Grey and Pink Paislee. So so pretty. Loving them (Sorry no links right now).
Would love to know what you're seeing out there. What you're loving! Not that I 'need' any more product, but no worries in just looking....right?!

Yesterday I got to meet Evelyn and Jacob. So cute. So tiny. Was pretty darn wonderful. I'm more than impressed with their Mum too. Wow. She is darn amazing. And home already. I've spent the day hanging out. I took Alice to the library where she made a clock, and we did some baking too. Later I made dinner and did some washing and stuff. Its been good. I feel useful. LOL. I can't wait to go back to the hospital to see Eve and Jacob again. I got some lovely pics of Eve, but not Jacob. I NEED some. LOL.
Its amazing to see twins so little again. Its taken me back. So many things the same, so many things different. And I must admit I miss my twins and family. But will be home soon.
Until then I'm gonna make the most of this special time. I feel so priviledged to be part of what's going on right now. Amazing wonderful times.

I'm sitting at the airport waiting for my flight to Sydney. Jane had her twins. Very quickly. A beautiful girl and boy. Funnily enough I was already planning to go this week to help her out. To help keep those babies in as long as possible. She beat me to it. So take care of my hubby and kids while I'm away. Love you lots my wonderful family. T

I had a phone call at 7am this morning from Sydney. My oldest (as in length of time, not age, LOL) bestest friend in the world has gone into labour. I was (hopefully still will?) going over tomorrow to help her out. You see she is pregnant with twins and I wanted to hang out, and help her get through the last few weeks a little easier.
But she's beaten me to it and RIGHT NOW is in labour.
I am just so darn excited its not funny. I can't wait to see her, find out what she has and to be a part of yet another chapter in her life.
Just can't sit still. Am so excited, nervous, teary. Go Jane go. You can do this girlie!

I was reading through one of my favourite books the other day... "Change the world for $15". Its got lots of fun ideas, thoughts, aspirations. One of them is to give blood.
I thought right then and there, that it would make for a great Sunday Shake up. Unfortunately its not something I can do. I was in Britain during the whole mad cow issue. So it means that having eaten meat there during that time, I'm not safe to give blood (lets hope that I'm ok later on!!!).
Did you know that over a lifetime 80% of kiwis will need blood product in their lifetime? Yet only 5% will give blood. Maybe this is something you can do. And I know sure as anything there are people out there right now that need blood. Maybe even your blood.
So this week, give something new a try and help save someones life.
Dare ya.

My kids have been up to more cuteness lately. Just had to share:
Yesterday while Dan was at a speech therapist, assessing if he needs any help (he doesn't) a lady flicked through a book asking what is this, this, this, trying to get him to say the sounds they were looking for to assess his speech. As she flicked over a picture of a ring, wanting him to say 'ring' she asked, what is this Daniel? He answered very proudly "A diamond" ROFL! She and I both cracked up. Just love my boy!
I went to teacher interviews yesterday and had a lovely chat to the teachers. I was asking about boys and their behaviour (we're having some issues) and they mentioned how great Matt is doing and how they had just been saying to the class that day how 'understanding' Matt is. How he is kind and considerate and thinks of others (which is wonderful!), but the funny part came in Sarah's response..... "he's not ALWAYS that understanding."
Matt has taken to kissing my hand at night, like an old fashioned man. It is so delightful. "Mummy can I have your hand please?" KISS. Sigh.
I'm sure there were more I was going to add in, but as usual when I go to blog, I can't remember. Sigh. I might have to come back and edit as I remember.

I did it. I finished Dan's party invites. Thankfully there were only 5 so it wasn't too big a job. Here's what they look like....
I used felt as the base, moustache, eye and eye patch. A patterened material for the hat. A very cool iron on parrot (brought at Spotlight). And then stitched the mouth.
Dan chose the material for the bandana. There was a cool one with anchors and ship steering wheels (what are they called?) on it, but no, this was what he wanted. And to be honest, works really well!
And on the back I printed off details of the party, with some crossed swords at the bottom.
We haven't yet decided where we're having the party. So far we're leaning towards having it elsewhere so we don't have to spend a week cleaning this place from top to bottom.
And we thought this would be a fun way of having more 'pirate' themed stuff going on - I recon the kids will get a kick out of receiving a 'treasure map' to find out where to go for the party.
So I'm pretty stoked with how they turned out.
PS: I made up my own templates after searching the web for ideas. I then put a couple of different ideas into place, drawing my own shapes for them.

Ok, today I worked out stock for a couple of kits....
I have:
2 1 0 x full Texture Throughout class kits
3 0 x full 3in1 class kits
Edited to add: I'm sorry all kits have now sold. Please contact me if you're still interested, and I will see what I can do, if I can put half kits together etc. Thanks everyone.
I haven't checked the cards class stock yet, so I will let you know about that soon.
Also, I may still be able to get more kits together, but they may not have the entire range (ie they may miss an alpha or something similar). These kits would of course be slightly cheaper.
Speaking of price, here are the details:
The classes themselves were selling for $52 per person. I am selling full kits with instructions (including photos) for $40.
If you're interested, my email address is in a link on the sidebar, send me an email confirming which kit you'd like.
If I get a higher demand than what I can supply, I will despatch according to 'first in' basis. Then I'll discuss with anyone else as to what/how/if I can fill an order for a full/part kit & instructions.

A few months back I discovered a fruit shop. I was driving past, realised I needed some stuff and went in.
The fruit and veges were amazing. Really high quality, but still good prices. Plus they also carry cheap milk and do the BEST wraps (the ones you buy to make your own).
They are also really friendly, and have great hours. Means when I drop off Dan at daycare, I can still do a quick shop before I drop M&S at school. Its brilliant.
Well this morning as we were doing just that, I watched the lady behind the counter talk with and give some grapes to some children that were in the shop. She was really kind to them and I asked her as they left if they were her children.
She said no. And that was it.
She also allowed M&S to help pack the box of fruit. She was really great (as she always is). I said again, thanks and at that point, she told me that the kids she had given grapes to before were from a family that doesn't always have a lot of money. They always do their fruit/vege shopping with them and they always walk past on the way to school. So if they are hungry for fruit, they stop in and she will give them something little to have before school (they were with their Dad).
I was gobsmacked. How many shops still do stuff like this????
So I just had to give a huge shout out to this wonderful shop and its cool owners. If you live around where I do, feel free to email me and I'll tell you where it is.

It's Dan's birthday in a couple of weeks and I'm just making his party invites. Pirate ones. Oh dear. They are looking pretty interesting, and pretty cool. But I have to get it right. Dan's quite particular on how they 'should' look.
Hopefully they'll be finished tonight or tomorrow and I'll show some pics.

I had fun and created the following LO...
This is Sarah's favourite headband. She got it from the $2 shop and wears it everyday. To school, tennis and even rugby. It had to have a page specifically about it.
As you can see I've turned the sketch on its side to create my LO....

I have a few class kits left from SENZ. Ones I didn't make up and take down. I should have! Nevermind. It means that I will have them for sale shortly.
If you'd like to take the opportunity to buy a class by myself. I will have more details up later this week.
I already know I will have a couple of 'Texture Throughout', but might have some card class kits and possibly the 3 in 1.
As soon as I get the product together and work out what I have, I'll put a post up here.
