We made our way out to some reles an hours drive away to have a mid-winter Xmas get together. It was a great day. The kids got to hang out with some 'newish' (to them anyway) cousins or second cousins twice removed (or something equally far out!). It was nice to see them meet new relatives and get alond so nicely with them all. It was equally nice for me to meet more of Andy's reles. We took a coleslaw using a cabbage from the garden. Was nice. Andy does a great coleslaw!!!!
After lunch, and a huge array of wonderful deserts which the kids went back for 'thirds' of (eeek!), we went for a walk around the beach and had a play at the playground. It was FREEZING. But really refreshing and to be honest, I loved it.
Funny thing is that a good scrapping friend Lucy is part of Andy's family and she and her family were there. There's a really good story that goes with finding out how she is family, maybe I'll tell that another time. But its always nice to catch up with her and her family!
As usual for a Saturday the kids played rugby first thing. And this week was extra special. Both Matt and Sarah got 2 tries each!!! Did I already tell you this? LOL! Yeah, proud Mum here! LOL. So neat to see as a Mum standing on the sideline. And its great to see the team growing each week as they get more confident with catching the ball, passing it, staying within the field etc. They have a fantastic coach and Matt has been lucky to have two such amazing men as coaches in his first two seasons of sport.
So that pretty much was it.
Later.
Sounds like a wonderful family day...
