How exciting for your children! Well I at the age of nearly 50, yikes, am spreading my wings and heading off in 5 weeks less 4 days, not that I'm counting to the Greek Islands and Europe, My husband and our best Friends Leanne & Jeff are sharing this experience. I have only ever been to NZ before about 5 years ago when my brother was living there and I loved your country. We are going for 2 months and we have been planning it for prob over 12 months now. My middle son has been living os for over 12mths now, he is based in London, so we'll be catching up with him as well. No doubt there are going to be HEAPS of s/booking memories!

Awesome plans Trina - at least the kids will know that there is a big world out there outside of NZ, and perhaps it will endear them to loving NZ as much as we do after travelling!!

and thats where scrapbooking comes into it - helps them remember!

It's wonderful that you can take your children to China, I'm sure they will learn a lot from the experience and seeing a different culture and lifestyle.
My kids will just have to make do with NZ, as we can't afford an overseas holiday for the whole family :-(

Wow Trina - that is so totally cool!! We almost ended up in Shanghai after Belgium but wound up back home instead. Make sure you say Hi to Heidi Swapp - I believe her family is living there now!! LOL
I'm sure it will give the kids a good outlook on the rest of the world - and an appreiciation of what we have right here too.

Such excitement for the McClune family. My mum did a tour through China last year and said the Pandas were just wonderful.

That's very exciting!
My Dad did a sabbatical in London when I was 4, turning 5. I remember heaps from it so M&S will definitely remember things. :)

How fantastic for you all and what an experience for the kids. My lot have only been to Australia and the first trip was a couple of years ago and even that was an eye opener for them. It was my first trip overseas as well but certainly not the last.

Debbie - NZ

I think it is such an amazing idea and i know all 3 kids will have an amazing time!

What a fantastic idea. Would love to have the opportunity to travel while my girls are still young.

How wonderful to be taking them to far away lands.

Awesome!! Wow what an experience for them! And the photo's you take and scrap will keep their memories alive I am sure!

We agree about travel and children, but we also want them to see NZ. Currently they have been form north to south on the SI; and as far north as New Plymouth & Tauranga on the NI. And they will remember because you will take photos and scrap them - that's how my children remember

What a wonderful opportunity for them, even if they don't remember the details I am sure the experience will change their lives, and scrapbooking will help with the memories.
Great link for the panda's.

Wow ... China of all places ... so different from little ol' New Zealand, said in the nicest possible way. But what a journey it will be and just think of all the special moments to be captured on camera - a lifetime of memories ... crikey!!!

P.S. how is your friend???

How awesome. What a great opportunity for all of you :)

good on you its so exciting
We are starting to plan trips with our girls too !! Not just Queensland theme park holidays lol
We are off on a cruise next year Thats freaking me out!!!!!

Hey girl - we spent time in Beijing in January this year. the kids absolutely loved it. I was worried it might be 'too much' coming from such a small town to such a large city - overwhelming but I was happily proved wrong. The kids (and us) had one of the best holidays we've ever had. So many memories - Jayk (13), Noah (10) & Ellie(8) thrived on all the excitement and each developed a special bond with our guide (she had them speaking basic Chinese within two days!!). We are planning to go back to China in two years (Japan is in the planning for January 09). Have a ball xxx
