Wow, look at that glorious water!! Glad you had a great weekend Trina!

Yvette

Sounds like you had such an awesome weekend. I love hearing you talk about your property and the kmids being able to go down to the water edge and play in mud and catch sprats. They are ging to have amazing memories in years to come.

Vicki

Yes it is just like the old days weatherwise - its been a long time coming though. Can't believe how close that Takahe got - he obviously didn't consider himself endangered!! LOL

Dawn Stan

Looks like you had an awesome weekend Trina.

Cindy

SOunds like you had a great weekend ! VERY cool that you got to see the [almost] endangered birds. I have never even heard of Takahe. How great for the kids that you were able to catch and release those little fish :)

Tiri is one of my favourite places! We stayed a night there when I was pregnant with Tim. It was magic to wave good bye to the boat and sleep over. Being married to The Mad Photographer has some advantages, even tho' it means carrying his tripod when he's got the Big Momma lens on.

Love the gardening photo too :)

Ilka

Sounds like you had an awesome weekend! Might have to explore that wee island one day, maybe when our stepdaughter is over.
Gorgeous LO's as always in prior post!
Off to check out Fiskars link! Have a wonderful week!

WOW you guys looked like you had a blast and you guys are outside in tees! WOW.. I am soo looking foward to spring right now we are soo tired of the cold although I can't complain because everywhere else in the states all you hear is snow and snow... all we have is cold and cold.. I want to go to the pizza shop and sit outside the bench and eat an ice cream cone already!! :(! lol

Spent a day at Tiri Tiri Matangi last October. What a wonderful place, great scenery, easy walking tracks, we saw lots of birds & got up close to a Takahe or two also esp by the lighthouse. Would have almost fallen asleep on the boat ride back to Auckland if it wasn't for the two 11year old boys who wanted to jump off all the time!!

Hi Trina,

I am going have to write down Tiri Tiri Matangi, for the next time we go to New Zealand. My partner is a kiwi, so I now have been there a few times and I love going for drives. There are so many beautiful places to see. This is going to be put onto my list for next time. My girls loved when they saw some Pukeko's and I loved the Kea (it was repeating my sounds) so funny.
