Yesterday this teeny tiny chick gave us her first egg. And we missed it. I went down today and saw it sitting there in the mud (it was WET today!),
then as a crouched down to put more food into their wee home, I noticed another one. Right in the hen house. And it was still warm.
This gorgeous BIG chook has started to lay.
I'm beyond excited. I had this irrational fear that the chooks we hatched wouldn't lay. Thankfully they have started to. I'm not expecting any of the others to start until spring, but this was such a lovely surprise.
Now hoping the rain lets up so all that yukky mud dries up. Not much fun when it's so wet for them.

its all go on your farm!!!
