I saw this cake on Pinterest the other day and pinned it to make one day. As you do.
Then today, realised we were going out for afternoon tea and thought, self, this could be a good day for that maltesers cake.
So I gave it a go....
Here's the link to the person who created this cool decorating idea.
The cake isn't the same, but the decorating idea, totally copied!
The cake is a 'crazy cake'. The receipe is taken from a book called "The Everything Book" by Eleanor Graham Vance.
Andy had it as a child and we were lucky his Mum kept it and gave it to him a couple of years back. The kids just ADORE this cake as it's sooooo easy to make. Here's the receipe....
Directly into a 8-inch square cake pan (I used a circle one!)
Sift: 1.5 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 3 tbsp cocoa, 1.5 tsp baking soda, .5 tsp salt.
Make holes in these dry ingredients.
Into one hole pour 1 tsp vanilla essence
Into another pour 6 tbsp cooking oil.
Into the third pour 1 tbsp vinegar.
Pour 1 cup of water over all, and beat with a fork until smooth.
Bake at 180 for 25-30 mins.
Cool huh?! Nothing to wash except the measuring spoons and cake tin. And it tastes good. Wonder what it'll taste like with maltesers on top?

At least you are making what you pin!!! LOL. It looks great.
