Have you seen the latest Prima newsletter? Check it out here. I was lucky to have my Xmas stockings featured in the 'Beyond the page' section....
They were very easy to make so in the spirit of Xmas, I thought I'd share that with you all here.
First hand draw a pattern / template on sheets of paper. I used 4 pieces of A4 taped together.
Cut it out, then place onto your fabric. Loosely pin down and cut around (I cut all 6 pieces of mine at once by layering on top of each other).
Next you want to decorate the front of the stocking. Do this before you stitch it together to make it easier to work with.
I used A4 copysafe pockets to make a pocket to place a photo in which can be changed each year. Then I used lots of gorgeous Prima product to finish the decorating. One of their beautiful jewellery necklaces was perfect for the top of Sarah's one, while the sparkly Dynasty jewels were perfect to catch the light.
Once you have finished decorating the fronts, place the outside pieces together, then tack into place with pins and stitch. I used a sewing machine, but hand stitching would work just as well.
For Matt's I also used a Tim Holtz die to cut some felt to make it more 'boyish'.
For Sarah's the necklace and lace added a real feminine touch.
Once the pieces are stitched together, just turn them in the right way and hang by your fireplace.
I have since made Daniel one too. We can't have anyone missing out!
I hope all your Xmas preps are going well. Happy birthday to Ruth! Hope you're having a good day. T
